Susan S. Throckmorton has written a mystery titled THE MAYAN MANIFESTO. The theme is very timely because of the ancient Mayan prediction that the world will end in 2012. It is Susan's* first novel and is a thorough exploration of the Mayan belief system. It is obvious that the author has a complete knowledge of not only the people but the language and culture of the Mayans as well. She also demonstrates a firsthand knowledge of modern college students.

This book is well researched. As you read, be patient. The mystery unfolds slowly, but you will learn a lot on the way. This is a better-than-average first novel, and we look forward to many more from Susan Throckmorton.
Wow - this was an amazing book. If you are at all interested or even aware of the Mayan Calendar and the "end" on December 21, 2012, this is a great book to read. You will not only learn a lot (yes in a fictional book) but you'll be sitting on the edge of your seat waiting to turn the page.
